drag racing, a race between two cars from a complete stop over a distance of one quarter of a mile (1320 feet) depends heavily on the first 60 meters of the race, or launching. The technique used for launching varies greatly depending on how the car is equipped. The type of transmission, which are driving wheels, tires, power, suspension and track preparation all play a key role in how to get the best possible launch of the car.

In general, the improvements within 60 feet, are magnified by 2x the final ET. For example, a Dodge Viper GTS ranging from 12.2 to 120 km / h in fourth mile with a time of 2.0 to 60 feet can make significant improvements to the quarter mile times, obtaining a better launch. I was scanning the race tracks for almost 25 years. Long before programmable, handheld scanners, my first scanning set up consisted of a big old Bearcat 250 mobile scanner duct connected to a huge 12-volt lantern battery. It is estimated that there may be more than 10% of fans at a NASCAR event are typical “scanner-equipped. Race Track Scan has become so popular, it extended far beyond the NASCAR super highways to the dirt, dragster, and even in the night Saturday at the local short track. I have compiled a collection of tips and tricks to help you get maximum enjoyment from you race scanning experience. If you have nothing else to add, please send it along with me so we can share with others. Have fun! continue reading…

NASCAR start our season with a summary look back at year in Paris. If you bet with me in 2005, I am probably a kind of folk hero to you, wandering the countryside with olive oil and axle grease under the fingernails, spreading the wisdom of the race car with a Johnny Appleseed kind of style.

For the year, offering three selections pure and simple (ie, three pilots thought I could win the race that week), I immediately chose 17 winners in 37 events, a music video for 46%. Every week, I gave you one match head-to-face I’m saving money (for example, a driver who was overtaken by another rider in a week) on the Paris was ridiculous for a 28 -36, a percentage of 78% profit. In total, this means that if you bet a dime to drive with me every week, minus 54.6 units, or $ 54,606.30 for the 2005 season of the Nextel Cup. Pretty snazzy, eh? Even snazzier, if you think I’ve changed the format is the key to this season. continue reading…
